Book Signing By Evie Ryland, Author of 'Sun Gone Nova' will be Held During October's Venice Art Crawl
I'd like to invite everyone to my book signing and release party. I realized that I hadn't yet held a release party, so I'm making this my big celebratory bash. Hope to see you there!
The Venice Art Crawl organizes events on the 3rd Thursday of the month every month and this Thursday, October 21st 2010, from 5:30-9pm, I'll be at Figtree's Cafe at 429 Ocean Front Walk signing copies of Sun Gone Nova.
Details as follows:
Evie Ryland, author of Sun Gone Nova will be signing copies of her cartoon book at Figtree's Cafe during the Venice Art Crawl on October 21, 2010. The event will begin at sunset on the Boardwalk in Venice Beach.
“I enjoy meeting fellow art collectors and a new event such as the VAC is a perfect venue. I'm especially looking forward to seeing works by other Southern California artists," said Evie Ryland.
Ryland will have first edition books for her fans and will be giving out a free gift with every purchase.
In addition, TWO special giveaways will include a signed copy of her comic book and Jewelry by Ingrid in a random drawing.
The book, Sun Gone Nova: A Collection of Cartoons by Evie Ryland hits a unique comedic cord in the fine art community. Each brightly colored cartoon in the collection embodies classic American culture with a scientific twist. From space aliens, talking butterflies and clowns in the old west to Michelangelo's penchant for beautiful women, there's something for every art lover. Analytical humor abounds in this 96 page book of surreal and vividly colored pen and ink drawings. Its a delightful insight into a world of wit and satire.
Evie Ryland is a fine artist and cartoonist best known from her Century City Newspaper comic strip, Sun Gone Nova. Her satirical and analytical influence is attributed to being raised in a Texas beach town by her Artist mother and Chemist father. She then traveled to Pennsylvania and across the United States picking up interesting bits of American culture along the way until finally settling on the west coast. Ms. Ryland's experience as a gallery owner and curator in Arizona led her to become a founding member of the Century City Chamber of Commerce Arts & Cultural Affairs Council. In addition to Volume Two of Sun Gone Nova, she is currently developing a fine art book and completing a children’s book.
