In his first President’s Message, Lombino stated that he “would first like to thank the Board of Directors for bestowing on me this great honor of serving as President of the Southwest Region of FCA for the next two years.”
“I have stated often and loudly that in my opinion this is the best car club anyone could be a member. I say that because of the people.” He then went on to thank the advertisers, stating that they “are the backbone of our magazine and sponsors of many an event.”
Lombino discussed the Grand Canyon Tour, the Floyd Mayweather tour, the 8th Annual Mystery Ride, Concorso Ferrari in Pasadena, and Pebble Beach concours. Newly appointed FCA President, Lombino recommended that current members become involved in the club, suggesting that writers are welcome to contribute to the Sempre Ferrari publication and cover events. Members can share open events with friends and family, as well as recommend they join the club to participate in private members-only trips. FCA Members can also submit any ideas to the board for other fun ways to enjoy their Ferraris.
“Working with our Board and membership, we have our 2016 schedule in place with new events as well as standbys. Budgets have been set through 2017 so that we know our events will be viable and our Region healthy. And our Region’s magazine, Sempre Ferrari, is again bi-monthly, providing members more up-to-date information and advertisers more exposure.”
Board meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 9:00 am. Members are encouraged to attend and can contact the FCA for the location of the next board meeting.
About Kenneth Lombino
Kenneth Lombino is the President/ Director of the Southwest Region Ferrari Club of America and Senior Vice President – Investments at Merrill Lynch, Portfolio manager of high net worth accounts.
He enjoys many interests including acting, music, car collecting, car racing, motorcycles, is an expert skydiver and extremely passionate about Ferraris, the FCA and driving. As a youth, Kenny was very passionate about sports cars and thanks to an understanding salesman, he was allowed to sit in a black and tan 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider. That’s when he learned what passion for an automobile really was. “The smell of the leather, the feel of the wheel, the gated shifter, the styling, Wow! Nothing else even came close.”
Decades later, he finally owned his first Ferrari. Many were outstanding, but when a salesman offered a test drive of the black Scuderia Spider 16M sitting in the showroom, his intense passion struck again: the sound, the Italian racing stripes, the look of the carbon fiber, the feel of the Alcantara, it was ‘WOW!’ all over again. He purchased that car, and considers it a favorite in his collection.
Originally from Teaneck New Jersey, Lombino has lived in Los Angeles for over 3 decades.
The Ferrari Club of America (FCA) is the largest Ferrari club in the USA comprised of over 5,700 members. There are 16 active regions and 34 chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada.
